GP4020 Description

    The GP4020 GPS Baseband Processor combines the flexibility of the GP2021 12-channel correlator with the power of an ARM7TDMI microprocessor in a single device. The GP4020 operates with the existing GP2015 GPS RF Front End device to produce a new 3.3 V GPS Receiver architecture for Navstar L1 C/A-code GPS. A lower-cost, lower-power GPS receiver architecture can now be implemented, by virtue of a lower operating voltage of 3.3 V, and a reduced memory component requirement due to the use of the ARM7TDMI's 16-bit "Thumb" instruction set.

    Some new enhanced facilities are available on GP4020. These include a 1 PPS output, 3-wire serial interface, a PLL-adjustable system clock frequency, a fully configurable memory state machine and a boot-ROM to allow test-routines and software updates to be uploaded. This combined with new advanced firmware from our third-party partner companies produces a new level of high-performance GPS receiver capability.
